The introduction of educational webinars and such are actually even better than the classroom in my opinion. I feel more people are likely to ask questions without the fear of appearing stupid in front of everyone else.... since its really only you and a computer screen. The other thing to consider is the lack of distraction and the feeling of one on one tutoring which helps the subject sink in faster and become more memorable. I definately agree that this type of study should be promoted in our education system but I don't know how that sort of transition could take place.

Re: Is Facebook Losing Steam?

I wonder if Facebook kinda saw this comin?

Re: Thank You!

Looking forward to reading your insights on "the numbers".

Re: Edit Shared Facebook Links

thanks a ton!

Re: Mobile, Social & Food Trucks

Yes, food trucks are a symptom of our on demand culture...but a pleasant symptom Its amazing how many times I have been in need of rescue from the horrors of the fast , fried food jungle. I think the 8.9 inch is the one for me. It is small and portable, and has a large enough screen so I am not really missing out on anything. I love how Samsung redesigned the tablet right after the iPad 2 was released. As soon as they release this tablet I am going to be first to get one! It looks simply beautiful. After I get my Galaxy Tab, I am going to download the DISH Remote Access app. Using this app and the 722k receiver with a Sling Adapter, I can stream live TV and my recordings to my tablet. As a customer and employee of DISH Network, I can say that this app will look beautiful on the Galaxy Tab! I am so excited to get one, I can hardly wait!

Re: Google Displaying Social Content In Snippet Text

Wow that's pretty crazy. That would suck if a tweet you didn't really want to show up was being brought up in the search... I guess Google does like the whole "social" aspect after all.

Re: Google Displaying Social Content In Snippet Text

Great insight, Josh. Thank you!

This would be a lot easier if I were at liberty to share a screenshot but unfortunately, I cannot. The tweets for the page in question are actually being incorporated into the page as HTML rather than drawing from a Javascript, as you describe. So it doesn't surprise me that they might show up in the SERPS.

It's definitely a possibility it is simply Google treating the tweet content no differently than it does any other portion of a page, it does however feel like Google is giving priority to the social content.

I've got to do some more testing and see if I can eliminate some factors.

Re: Google Displaying Social Content In Snippet Text

This is an intriguing post, David. I wonder if there are existing Google factors at play here. Google uses what they please when it comes to what they show as the snippet in the search results. Many times it's the meta description, yes, but they may also pull in content from throughout the web page if they feel certain text it is a better match than the description based on the search.

Normally, tweets are exempt from being pulled into the search results snippet because the content of the tweets are pulled in via javascript as the page is loading (i.e., the actual text of the tweet is not a part of the indexed HTML on the web page). Some websites go the extra mile to download and store tweets on their servers so that tweets are indexed as a part of the website content.

Could it be that you're simply working with a website that renders their tweets as HTML on the page and that Google is matching search queries to the content of the tweets? Or is it a completely different type of snippet that specifically speaks to tweet and blog content? I'd love to see a screen shot if you have one :)

Re: LinkedIn Best Practices For Business

My thought is Linekedin is best for god a good job increase friend list all over the world. using this way we have to get more business also. anyway great article.

Re: Bud Light Paintball Airstrike Ad Hijacked By Retailer

Hi,

Great work guys, Thanks guys for the news that Bud Light Paintball Airstrike Ad Hijacked, it is really biggest news guys, great Job, really superb work.

Thanks guys for the news.

Re: Consumer Psychology In A Recession

The video is great!
